Rediff Undergoes A Facelift

Suddenly it appeared as if the site has been hacked. The old colourful and full-of-elements webpage has got a compact, search engine look now.

The ‘less is more’ touch makes it more like a search engine. Page Title also seems to have been modified – really really long page title that cannot be accommodated by firefox and the brand name is pushed out of the range of the title bar.

This looks odd – since the portal has got a trendy look (read “Google-look”), the title should not be so long; “Rediff.com – Indian Search Engine” could leave a better impact.

News, Movies, Cricket, Money, Rediffmail, My Page, iShare and Shopping – these sections are displayed on the home page along with a link to other services. Some news headlines and related videos are also displayed on the right side of the page. The main search box remains at the top.

Previously, links to Rediff matchmaker, Rediff blogs used to be displayed on the home page. They may decide to highlight these services on homepage periodically. Let’s wait and see what else Rediff has under its sleeves.
