The PolyCola

Saturday, January 5th, 2008 | Internet with No Comments »

Google and Yahoo! – the two biggies in the www, are widely used for information searching, image searching, video searching and; eventually, they have become part of our life.

Now, nothing is perfect in this world, so are the search engines. Google and Yahoo! use different search algorithm while both of them employ text based searching techniques. The algorithms are not flawless – sometimes the results displayed by Google look good and sometimes that of Yahoo! looks more relevant.

What if Google and Yahoo! tie up for us? Well, that’s not possible, but Arbel Hakopian has created something very close to that concept. Arbel has developed PolyCola – an engine that can peek inside various search engines simultaneously and displays the results on a single page using different frames.

Using PolyCola, researchers and surfers can look at any two search engines at a time. Users can instruct PolyCola which search engines should be considered to retrieve results. “Thirsty for information? Mix your search here!” - that’s what PolyCola is all about.

PolyCola was known as GahooYoogle.com earlier. However, due to some legal issues the product has been redefined as PolyCola with enhanced features and functionalities. Why don’t you try it to know more?

Google Sitelinks

Friday, December 7th, 2007 | Internet with No Comments »

Now Google will show more sitelinks in the search results, so that the visitors can go directly to the useful pages of that top site. Google announced that it is becoming very popular to the visitors and for this reason they have decided to show eight sitelinks instead or four. They have changed their algorithms to fulfill this purpose. According to Google, eight sitelinks will give a good overview of that particular top site’s content and will also help the visitors to access more topic or areas of the top site.
